Il ponte sospeso
If you prefer a different perspective for exploring the area or crossing the Lake, then we recommend a walk on the suspension bridge. The bridge is anchored to the ground with steel cables that support and maintain the balance. In the middle of the walkway, clear glass plates will be placed which will further increase the thrill and charm of across. The suspension bridge is one of the last masterpieces built in the territory. It works as a link between the two banks of the Lake.
The ghost town of Fabbriche di Careggine
The ingredients for a super Park there are all: the unique landscape, breathtaking views, a suspension bridge and a Flyline. Well, if we add the ghost and submerged town of Fabbriche di Careggine, Vagli Park becomes legendary.
In the past, the lake of Vagli didn’t exist, in that area the was the town of Fabbriche di Careggine. It was inhabited mainly by families of blacksmiths from Brescia. They worked the iron extracted from the Monte Tambura. But was decided to build a dam that would have flooded the Valley and the village of Fabbriche di Careggine. In the 1953, the villages of Pantano, Piari and Fabbriche di Careggine were submerged and residents were forced to leave their homes. In 1958, when it was emptied the Lake for the first time, it was possible to revisit the ruins of Fabbriche, the only village that survived under the waters. So, every time the Lake is emptied for maintenance work, thevillage of Factories back to the light. This event attracts hundreds of people that go to the submerged village for a suggestive walk. The last time was in the 1994.
Waiting for the ghost village come back to the light, we can enjoy the wonders of the area. Thanks to the suspension bridge and the flight of the Angel nowwe can even imagine it and perhaps glimpse passing or flying above.
