Michelin Guide 2019
More and more often we hear of chefs and starred restaurants thanks to very popular TV shows such as MasterChef and Top Chef. The Michelin Guide 2019 is fresh from these days, which, as every year, decrees the awarding of the much-coveted stars that certify the highest quality in the catering field.
Italy can boast 367 starred restaurants, thanks to which it turns out to be the second most cited country in the Michelin guides. And how is Tuscany set? The answer is well, considering that it has 36 restaurants with one or more stars. Among these is the famous Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, led by the couple Giorgio Pinchiorri – Annie Féolde, which mantains its 3 stars confirming itself in the very small club of restaurants promoted with full marks (only 10 in all of Italy).
The Michelin stars in Tuscany
In addition to the three stars Enoteca Pinchiorri, in Tuscany we find four restaurants with 2 stars: Arnolfo in Colle Val d’Elsa, Bracali in Massa Marittima, Caino in Montemerano and the Piccolo Principe, restaurant of the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, in Viareggio.
New stars
Through the restaurants with 1 star we find two welcome novelties, the AI43 of Lucignano and Il Giglio in Lucca, and the return of La Tenda Rossa (Cerbaia in Val di Pesa), which go to accompany the other 29 restaurants that have confirmed their star and that we are going to list dividing them by province.
Florence and province
In Florence we find six restaurants with one star: the Borgo San Jacopo in the homonymous street, the Bottega del Buon Caffè in lungarno Benvenuto Cellini, Il Palagio of the Four Seasons Hotel in Borgo Pinti, La Leggenda dei Frati at Villa Bardini, the Ora d’Aria in via dei Georgofili and the Winter Garden by Caino of the Hotel Saint Regis in piazza Ognissanti.
In the province Florentine there are La Torre in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and the Osteria of Passignano in Badia a Passignano.
In the province of Siena
In Siena we do not find starred restaurants, but in its province there are 9 places with a star: besides the aforementioned AI43 , there are the Castello di Fighine in San Casciano dei Bagni, the Cum Quibus of San Gimignano, I Salotti in Chiusi, Il Pievano in Gaiole in Chianti, La Bottega del 30 in Castelnuovo Berardenga to which the special award “Quality in Time “as a tribute to over 30 years of activity, Meo Modo in Borgo Santo Pietro di Chiusdino, Osteria Perillà in Rocca d’Orcia and Poggio Rosso in Castelnuovo Berardenga.
In the province of Lucca
Also the province of Lucca is well represented thanks to the many high-level restaurants on the riviera. In Forte dei Marmi we find in fact 4 restaurants with one star, the Bistrot, La Magnolia, Lorenzo and Lux Lucis, while in Viareggio we find the Romano restaurant which is in the same city of the two-stars Piccolo Principe. The Giglio di Lucca and the Butterfly of Marlia complete the list of restaurants in this province.
The other provinces
Only one single starred restaurant for the provinces of Pistoia, Livorno and Arezzo: Atman in Lamporecchio, La Pineta in Marina di Bibbona and Il Falconiere in Cortona.
Finally, there are 3 restaurants with one star in the province of Grosseto: Il Pellicano in Porto Ercole, La Trattoria di Enrico Bartolini in Castiglione della Pescaia and Silene in Seggiano.
